Overview
Completed civil works for the Kitselas First Nation Community Centre in Terrace, including site preparation and grading across a complex sloped site with integrated building, parking, and landscape areas. Scope included installation of all underground utilities, building excavation and backfill, underslab and perimeter drainage, and preparation of structural, paved, and concrete areas. Aggregate processing and crushing were also completed onsite to produce all specified aggregates for the project. Erosion and sediment control measures were maintained throughout construction, supporting coordinated delivery of a fully serviced and development-ready site.
Challenge
The remote project location made importing large volumes of specified aggregate costly and inefficient, while the site itself generated a large volume of excess, useable material.
Our Approach
Leveraged excess well-graded material from onsite cuts to mine, crush, and produce all specified aggregates directly on site, integrating material production into the broader civil works program.
Result
Reduced hauling costs, improved material availability, and increased overall project efficiency by converting excess site material into a valuable construction resource.
